Take Home Folder:
Students will bring their take-home folder to school each day! This is an easy way to get papers home to you and important papers returned to school. I will check each students take-home folder during morning announcements each day.
Agenda:
The agenda book will serve as a line of communication to build a good parent-teacher relationship! I will be emailing, updating this website, making phone calls, and sending home newsletters to communicate. However, if you have a transportation change or need to write a quick note, the agenda is a fantastic place to do that! I will also check each students agenda during morning announcements each day.
Library Books:
Students will check out library books every Wednesday. Students get to take these books home. They need to be returned the following Tuesday in order to check out a new book during their scheduled library time.
Homework:
Kindergarten students will have NO HOMEWORK this year! Being in school for an entire day means play time and rest when they get home! (There might be an exception when we get to a difficult unit in Math or Reading!)
Behavior:
All students at Cedar Cliff Schools are expected to be respectful, responsible, and resourceful every day! Kindergarten students should practice responsibility by bringing their agenda and take-home folder to and from school each day. They will be respectful by using kind words with their friends. They will learn how to be resourceful by learning how to compromise.
In the classroom, we will be using a behavior management system called Responsive Classroom. This behavior management system values positive reinforcement, natural and logical consequences, quiet time, movement breaks, interactive modeling, and building connections.
Birthday Treats:
-Each student may bring a treat to share with the class in honor of his/her birthday.
-All birthday treats must be store-bought and prepackaged.
-We currently have 24 students in our class.
Snack Time:
-Students will get a 15 minute snack time in class each day. Students need to bring their own snack item and it is very helpful to put your child's snack in a designated pocket in your child's backpack (separate from their lunch box).
